Best 22LR Pistol
I am looking into purchasing my next firearm. I own 9mm, 40's and 357. Looking now for a 22. I am looking for something expensive, but reliable and fun to shoot.
I have been looking at Phoenix Arms 22, Walther P22, Sig Mosquito
Also glancing at Ruger Mark II & III also the Beretta Bobcat
I am very indecisive at this point and am also looking for something that is in a reasonable price range and FUN too shot. (Mostly for my gf so it's for fun!
Thanks

I'm a happy owner of a Mk III Target, 6 7/8 barrel, fiber optics, good gun.

Ruger MK anything. I, II, or III it really doesn't matter.
Browning is just as good from what people say, but I've never owned one.

I love my Browning BuckMark Target.
I use this one shooting in ISI Steel Challenge Shooting.

If you want one that handles and feels like a real-life carry-type pistol, go with the Walther P22. Older magazines were a problem, but they solved that around 2003. I sure miss mine.:(

Did you mean Inexpensive? The guns you listed aren't very expensive.
Of the guns you listed the only 2 I would recommend are the Ruger or Beretta.
The Beretta Bobcat is a reliable and fun little gun, but it's not much of a target pistol.
The Rugers are great guns.
You also should consider the S+W 21A, Browning Buckmark and Beretta NEOS.

Did the Mark II's have fluted barrels? I thought only the Mark III Hunters had the flutes. Not sure.

You can take a few hundred dollar Ruger and turn it into a 1200 dollar gun pretty easily.
When the day is done, it's still a Ruger.
There is the S&W M41 that has been mentioned, or you can look for a used Hamden High Standard 106 or 107. There is also the Beretta 87 to think about.

Really can't go wrong with a Browning Buckmark. It is very accurate and the trigger is amazing.

The Browning Buckmarks look good too, but I've never owned one.

The MKII (and MKIIIs) are great, as is the MKIII 22/45. I love them both. If I had the choice between a MKIII and a MKIII 22/45 w/ both the same finish and barrel length, I'd go w/ the 22/45.

You can still find Mark II's out there. I would buy a used Mark II before I bought another Mark III.

Current or recent production, Rugers hands down. However, High Standard made some killer pistols like the HD military, Field King, and Sport King, that shouldn't be overlooked and that solid type pistol simply isn't made anymore. Parts are available so I'd at least give it a look!

Thanks, my man! Still looking for a Belgian Browning Medalist, and S&W K22, and a Colt Match Target.

I like my Ruger Mk.II the best - but the Beretta NEOS is also a nice inexpensive pistol (we have both a 6" and a 4.5").
