Ok, so it's not one of the big name expensive 1911s. So what? You like, it's yours, take some pride in it. That looks like a good meat and potatoes 1911. Many of these tend to render very good service. I've developed quite a bit of fondness to my RIA Tactical (very similar to your gun, but the finish isn't as nice), even though I have a couple of much more expensive ones in the safe.
Enjoy it. I've only seen a couple of them around here.

Congrats. A new gun is a new gun.
There is just something about the "regular" 1911 that the higher end models don't have. Don't get me wrong I would love to have a $1000+ 1911, but I think I would almost be affraid to touch it. The regular guns are go anywhere, do anything, fun guns.

Exactly.
I think its a very good 1911, to be honest, and obviously, a great value. I like all the Filipino models. I've never had an issue with any of mine and I own a model from all three manufacturers, Armscor, Metro, and SAM.
The American Classic and Firestorm are Metro guns.

The key words here are ".....put you IN one...."
He DIDN'T say "...SELL you one...."
I'm sure he'd have been happy to let you sit behind the wheel for a minute....
My brother's checking out 'Vettes....he lives on Cape Cod...and has NO GARAGE!! Mind you, the body may be fiberglass....but if it were me, I'd sure wanna keep that baby covered ANY time I wasn't driving it...and with something more substantial than a torneau cover!!

Nice pistola! I too, like Bac, have a Firestorm DLX already. However, I am trying to work a trade deal for a slightly used American Classic II DLX. It never hurts to have both.
