1911s by country of origin. Check out this data...
Good Lord, look at all these countries building our 1911. 
With my latest 1911s from Magnum Research and EGW, I reached an even 50 models. I figured for the fun of it, I would break them down by country of origin.
Here are the results by number and percent...
United States - 37 (74%) 
Philippines - 5 (10%)
Brazil - 2 (4%)
Canada - 2 (4%)
China - 1 (2%)
Israel - 1 (2%)
Italy - 1 (2%)
Turkey - 1 (2%)
I have three 1911 shelves in my gun room, with room on each for 20 models.
My high end shelf has 17 models on it, with 16 being from the United States. That's 94%.
My mid range shelf has 15 models on it, with 14 being from the United States, which is 93%.
My low end shelf has 17 models on it with 7 being from the States for only 41%.
Very interesting. Only two foreign 1911s made it off the bottom shelf, but that doesn't mean they aren't nice shooters and well built. Even though the 1911 is as American as you can get, I still like most of the foreign models quite a bit.
Thoughts? Those with large 1911 collections here, how is the breakdown? 
Also, can anybody think of any other countries building 1911s that I don't have listed here?
I know this is just a mindless exercise, but fun nonetheless.

Not 100% sure, but I don't think so.

Mine Break Down Like So:
Texas-3 (Wayne Bell Customs and STI and yes Texas is its own country).
USA-3 (Nighthawk, Les Baer, and Springfield Custom Shop)
