All 3 of my 1911's ride in kydex. I used to love leather holsters but somewhere down the road i switched to kydex on my other guns and just went with the plastic for my 1911's too. None of mine are BBQ guns, there all work horses and get lots of use whether its range, training seminars, or competitions
