29/36 hybrid possible?

Could I put a G36 slide on my G29, and use the 29 barrel? It would be awesome to have a lighter weight 29.

The weight of the slide has a lot to do with cycle timing. I don't think the slides are interchangeable due to the fact that the opening of the slide where the barrel sticks out is cut for the 45 barrel and would be too large for the 10mm barrel so accuracy will suffer. Also the breech face and extractor is set for the geometry of the 45 casing which is larger than the 10mm.

Accept the G-29 for what it is, the best compact 10mm bar-none! Why...reliability, accuracy and round capacity at a great price. Then with simple conversion barrel one could shoot the 40S&W/357Sig/9x25 Dillon from this same platform as these work from the 10mm magazines.
