Name Your 1911 Models (Goofy Game Avoid If You Have No Sense Of Humor!)

Just to start a different type of thread.....

So you just started a new firearms company making what else....1911s. You are introducing 3 models to start with but have more planned in the future.

You want to keep the current and future models following the same general naming guidelines. For example all names of birds, or names of historical figures, famous mountains etc. Only rule is no copying someone else's theme. Of course the theme has to match your company's name.

The first models you are introducing are:

3" Compact Model ~ Designed as a small CCW 1911 ~ Not many features, bare bones workhorse. Think Colt Defender

4 1/4" Commander Model ~ Designed as a every day carry 1911, has some upgraded features such as front strap checkering, night sights etc ~ Think Kimber Pro Carry TLE

5" Govt Model ~ Designed as a mid to upper level 1911 used for range work and home defense ~ Very well built, including some nice hand fitting with some nice add ons such as adj sights, checkering on the front strap etc. Think Les Baer PII

I will go first:

Check Six Firearms ~ Termed used by pilots when checking behind their plane for enemy aircraft.

3" Wildcat ~ Stubby tough little fighter that held the Japanese at bay in the early part of the war until better fighters came along. Not much to look at but could take a lot of punishment and dish some out too if the pilot knew the plane's strengths and it's weaknesses.

4 1/4" Mustang ~ Small, light and deadly in the right hands. Many consider it to be the best fighter of WWII on either side. Served in not only the fighter role but as a bomber and attack aircraft as well. A great all around design that is considered a classic to this day.

5" Corsair ~ With it's gull wing design it was a beauty that was unique in the skies. It also was a absolute killer in the right hands. It demanded a lot from it's pilot but when in capable hands it was unmatched in the air. Tricked out after the war it served very well as a racing aircraft for the next 2 decades. A aircraft not only beautiful but very functional as well.

WWII aircraft theme of course.

Again this is only to have a different type of thread so go easy on me with any insults!

Hmmmm...okay...I'll play.

3" - Dirk
4 1/4" - Broadsword
5" - Claymore

Scottish/Celtic weapons...and yes...I'm Scottish.

Although I have to point out that I would not want any of these names to actually be on the gun...they would be COMPLETELY NAKED...NO BILLBOARDS...they would be for reference of the specific models only!

Good ones, I have a little of the Scott/Irish blood flowing thru me as well (McIntosh). Weapons named after weapons I like!

I would like to come out with a 6" lonslide named the Bruce Campbell edition. Kind of like Ed Brown's Mas Ayoob.

I would only buy it though if they put it in REAL BIG letters across the side. I would want everyone to know how tac minded I am.

Yes my double barreled shotgun would be named that. So long as it has a walnut stock and was made in Grand Rapids.
