Hi Power help needed.

A dealer owes me a Browning Hi Power at his cost. I specified that I wanted the 75th Anniversary model that was blued with the fixed sights and 13 round mags. He told me today that he only could find the 10 round version at the distributors. He told me he thinks the cost will be around $850. I thought that was quite high seeing the Browning website shows the MSRP at $1029.00. I can't believe that there is less than 20% markup in Browning pistols. My question is if I end up getting the 10 round mag version can it be converted to the 13 round version just by purchasing the 13 round magazines or has the receiver been altered in any way that keeps a 10 round HP a 10 round HP? Also what are your thoughts on the black epoxy finish?

all it takes to change it is the 13 round mags, I actually use mecgar 15 rnd mags in my hps.
Dealer cost on a BHP as you describe is about 740.00 our store sells them for 869.00

you can't covert the 10 rounders...Mec-Gar makes 'em for FN/Browning...if you get the price settled, those 75th Anniversary models are a nice touch...pics when you get it...

+ on rgregoryb's post. The only difference is that identical BHP/FNHP pistols ship sometimes with 10-rounders, sometimes with 13 rounders. The difference is in the mag, not the gun.

I think that silversport means that one can't convert a 10-round mag into a 13-round mag. 13 round MecGar mags are available at $20 each from CDNN.

MecGar 15-rounders and 20-rounders are also good; the latter stick out from the grip a bit, but without affecting functionality. I plan to buy some more 15-rounders for my next-to-be-purchased used 1995-build HP, which will come with one 10-round mag.....

The KRD 15 and 17 round mags are still out there, good mags and cheap.
