Para Ordnance-in your opinion

I am finding that Internet opinions are like the Third law of Motion by Newton:
"III. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." Synonymously, for every Internet Opinion, there is an equal and opposite opinion.

Anyways, you have been in the industry ling enough to know fluff versus the truth.

I have read people having issues with Para Ordnance pistols. Is it because they went to Power Extractors(PXT)? I thought those were supposed to be advantageous. Are these unreliable as an evolution? Are older Para pistols more reliable prior to the PXT? OR are single stack 45 ACPs just less reliable than Single Stack ACPs?

I was considering getting a preowned P12 since it was prior to PXTs becoming the standard.

Thanks for any light that you may be able to shed on this confusing topic.

I've personally had good luck with Para-Ordnance pistols over the years. I did find that with the 13-round .45 mags, the mags would take a set if kept loaded for long periods. That cleared up when I replaced the OEM springs with Wolff magazine springs. I use Wilson mags in my single stack Paras, and have no problem.

When the PXT extractor first came out, the test gun I had would not run with Blazer; the slightly different case rim geometry was apparently incompatible. Worked well with everything else, though.

YMMV,

Mas
