opinions wanted - which new pistol to purchase?

I'm probably asking in the wrong forum (:D) but I was wondering which Glock I should get next. I'm trying to decide between a few options.

1) Glock 20 SF - $550
2) Glock 26 - $450
3) Glock 27 - $490
3) Use the money towards downpayment on Fusion longslide that I've wanted for years...(but that I won't see for many months once I place order)

Any strong opinions either way? FWIW, I sold off my current CCW pistol so I'm needing to replace it sometime with something SMALL. G29 is not a consideration...it must be smaller than a 29. I don't reload yet... Also, I've owned a G20 before but kinda wanna give the new all black SF a chance again as its a huge $$ savings over a Fusion longslide, but quite a bit more $$ than a little G26. The G26 I'd be able to shoot a LOT more and I could afford to get a reloading kit at the same time, which would obviously be a good thing.

I need some clarity to some of the thoughts running through my head, lol.

Any takers?

I just got a 26 for all the reasons you mentioned above. It's cheap to shoot, can stop fine if you can land shots, 10 or 13 round mag is easy to carry in the gun, and it's not so bad to pack for as thick as glocks are.

I looked at .380 long enough to laugh and move on.... also I paid $500 from a local dealer, so $450 is a steal. use the extra $50 on a IWB holster and some ammo.

Honestly, the G26 is at the top of my list right now. I could get a nice holster (IWB or Smartcarry), a bunch of ammo or even a reloading setup. I need something SMALL and the 9mm is fine for city carry, for me at least... cause I CAN hit. Only problem is that I have a hankerin for a G20. Decisions decisions...

I own a lot of Glocks, but if I could own only one handgun, it would be a Glock 19.

If I could have two, it would be a Glock 19 and a 20SF.

I have both the G20sf and G29sf both are excellent weapons. I would recommend either of these. Much more controllable for me with the shorter grip. I also have a G27 with a LWD 9mm barrel and glock .357sig barrel.

If you go with a subcompact Glock why limit yourself to one caliber. Get a G27 or G33 and buy a LWD conversion 9MM barrel a mag , ejector and extractor and you will be good to go. Have 2 guns 1 platform for about an extra 165.00.

I cannot see buying a Glock 9mm of any frame size unless you are committed to the 9MM as a sole platform or you just like having multiple caliber guns . Once you buy a Glock 9 that's all that it will ever be a Glock 9MM. If you want some flexibility you are better off with a Glock .40 or .357sig and you can convert to 9 if you like no matter what the frame size full, compact, or subcompact.

There is no reason for the 27 to cost more than the 26...barring nightsights, anyway...; I'd personally opt for the Glock 23, then spring the $99 for the LWD 9mm conversion bbl....

UPDATE: Got myself a NIB G26 the other day. Haven't even had a chance to shoot it yet but hopefully within the next week or so. Got a baby comin and it could be ANY DAY (or minute, for that matter) so I can't be too far away. :D

Texas, I'm not wanting to do any conversions with this carry piece.... this one's staying 9mm and 9mm only.

What I meant about "more expensive" is the ammo, not the pistol.

Sounds to me like there was no need for a g20sf. If you don't plan to use the gun for hunting or woods protection for animals then I don't see any reason to have the 10mm over the other calibers.

check out the AA .22lr kit. I love mine talk about cheap practice! reloading is ok but how long does it take you to load up 550 rounds and the cost of material?

Actually I would be using the G20sf for hunting and such, however. I have a Razorback for that and I needed a carry gun asap so I chose the G26.

MY PROBLEM is that I'm a 10mm nut so I will be needing a g20 also.

A G29SF is smaller than a G29.

I carry my G29SF concealed every day. It never prints - even with a TLR1 mounted to it. - and even in shorts and a T-shirt. I am 5'11" and weigh 185#. 46" jacket size, 33" inseam for your consideration.

I just ordered an extended barrel and 21# spring/ss rod for it - I only carry nuclear rounds to make up for the fact that I am not carrying a rifle.

:D

I hear ya about the SF being "smaller"... and I agree, however, the grip size isn't what was bothering me about my G29 for carry... it was the width. The G26 I got is working MUCH better and I'm basically in LOVE with it as a carry piece around here in STL.

When I'm out in the country and not worried about concealment I usually pack my Razorback... for when you absolutely, positively need a 5" barrel for your 10mm.
