Recommended carry ammo for PM9
I finally received my CCW. I have a PM9 that I would like to carry, but I need to find a good, reliable carry ammo. Any recommendations on what to try out first?
Thanks - RC

About anything that's HP. There's lots of good choices out there. I like something in 124 grain myself.
I've had lack of penetration problems with 147 grain ammo when shooting into meat before. Of course that was years ago using an MK9, so perhaps they've improved the 147 grain stuff since then?
I'm satisfied with 115 or 124 grain HP's by any reputable company.
Of course try whatever you choose, to be sure it's reliable in your pistol. My PM9 eats about anything I feed it.

HST's and Ranger T's work just fine in my PM9.

I used HST 147 in both my G26 and MK9.
It's a great round with plenty of penetration and not a lot of recoil.
But everyone is different, so try a few premium rounds to see what YOU like, can afford and can find in large enough quantities to becomes proficient with.

Dittos on the Corbon, my P9 covert simply loves them. Lots of choices out there but that's what I settled on.

I am slowly and steadily checking out the Hornady Critical Defense in my PM9. No feeding, ignition, or ejection problems so far....

BTW congrats on the CCW. Every new member is an extra nail in the coffin of those who would take it away if they could. Numbers we need them and we need some "Community Organizers" for the NRA and CCW rights !!! Hey that'd be an organizer that would be worth something.

Hydra-Shok 135gr
I like the 135gr Federal Hydra-Shok:

Accurate, a little less recoil than 115gr FMJ, and they feed flawlessly in my PM9 and the Glocks.

Yes, I used to run the 127gr. +p+ flavor, but now I use that loading too, especially since it hits to the same P.O.A. as NATO spec loaded 9mm.

My CW9 gets loaded with Federal 9BPLE (115gr +P+ JHP). It is a little hard to find, but never a problem and the round offers some serious "pop."

I really like the Federal HST 147. If that is not available, I would get the Winchester Ranger T 147.

Cor-Bon (Glaser) Pow'RBall for me. Very reliable feeding (rounded nose). Nearly as reliable as fmj, yet hp expansion.

I personally like Speer Gold Dot 124 Gr +P or Winchester Ranger 124 Gr +P. I've never had problems with the Federal Premium Tactical stuff, but it's hard to find at times.
