Does everone's G38 mags take 9 rounds?
All three of my G38 mags take 9 rounds without much effort. Is this the norm?
9+1 in a G38 certainly feels quite good and no need to use a +2 (+1 of course) so those can be used elsewhere.
Just wondering.

All of the 38's I have had have accommodated 9+1, but it is tight reinserting the topped off mag. And yes, I feel quite good about 10 rounds of 200gr Gold Dot in 45 caliber (or 230gr HST in the winter). It actually took quite a bit more effort to get the 10th round in my 30SF mags.

All three of mine do also. I am concerned about the "LONG" term effects, if any, adding the extra round. Spring, mag. damage etc.
Guess I should have asked that question when I was at the armorers course in May.

Good point, but like I said, most other Glock mag's take more effort to reach their published capacities.

My GAP G37 10 round mags were the hardest to load to full capacity! I think I still have sores on my thumb from trying to get that last round in...

My 3 G38 magazines only hold 8 and my G37 magazines were nearly impossible to load 10 rounds into though after leaving them loaded for several months, it has become much easier.

I have several G38 magazines. Max capacity is eight rounds.
