Excellent thread and glad you started one instead of it being part of the TSG-22 thread. I did all the same to my AA kit and I forgot about a polish job on the barrel's block surfaces, which I'll do soon.
What do you think about my idea of polishing the chamber area, since some brass will adhere to the walls when it expands. That little extra roughness might hamper extraction on some rounds. BTW, as is, Rem GB's, CCI MM's & CCI Velocitors are all 100%. I wish to have the same results with Win Hi-Vel (solids & HP's), Stingers, Win PowPts & whatever is 'easy to obtain in my area'.

yes, I have a dremel tool but have never attempted to polish anything with it...any advice as to where to begin...maybe something I could practice on before moving to my AA kit (translation: How easy is this to mess up?)

Call your local shops and ask them to order you one from one of their distributors. Thats how I did it and I got it pretty fast and paid $265.

Glock converted to .22lr, polished parts so it feeds many types of ammo, mag capacity increased to 13 rounds, your choice of any sight you wish to mount...doesn't get any better than that!

I just shortened the BDM plugs in my AA mags last night. I get 13 now in my AA mags.
Also did it to my Sig P226 .22lr conversion mags, I get 15 rounds now.

Has anyone bought anything from Atlantis Arms? They appear to have them, but did not call until I find out if anyone has bought anything from the site.

I wish, lol. The response at the 2 best shops in my area was, "Nope. Don't have any in stock, got 'em on order, and absolutely no idea how long it will be until we see them."
OK, can you take my name down or can I leave a deposit on a future delivery? "Sorry, but no and no."
I figured the $50 extra bucks for buying on gunbroker FAR outweighed the amount of 9mm I'd be shooting while I waited patiently for my turn in line.

What is this about 13 rounds in the mag?
Can someone elaborate?

ViperR and myself figured out a way to increase the capacity of the AA full size mags (17-22). It can be done in 2 ways, both of which are very inexpensive. It all comes down to the magazine plug. Our findings are outlined in this thread:
http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthre...ound+advantage
ViperR made his own plugs, and I modified some Black Dog Machine plugs. Both types work great. The Black Dog Machine plugs fit right in and just need to be shortened per the specs in the above thread. If you decide to make your own plugs just follow ViperR's measurements.
*Please note that this modification can only be done with the full size mags. It will not work on the compact or sub-compact mags.
Hope this helps.

Apply some Mother's BILLET Metal Polish on the part to be polished, set the Dremel at the #1 speed and... you're good to go!. You can do a "test round/practice" polishing coins, nickel, quarters, etc but don't press to hard, just go gentle back and forth until the part gets shiny. Very simple!
The third felt-tipped tool (right to left) is perfect for polishing the ramp and chamber down to the length of the .22cal casing (use very low speed)

I checked 1 hobby shop and 3 hardware stores but could not find an asortment of felt tipped bits, dremel makes a couple but they are too big.

First, I pushed/tapped out the rolled slatted pin that holds the extractor & safety together and removed both pieces. If you don't feel comfortable removing any of these parts, DON'T do it! ....but you can still polish them while installed.
Not great pictures but at least you'll get the idea of were the parts are located.
1. Hex screw- 2. Safety(These 2 parts have direct contact with the vertical extension of the Glock trigger bar which, in this case and as a Glock owner, it's also a good idea to polish.) 3. Extractor- 4. Glock trigger bar vertical extension - 5. Ejector (arrows shows contact parts where to polish) - 6. Firing pin ( same contact parts as the Glock pin)- 7. Feed ramp.
You can also polish the entire barrel plus the three flat surfaces of the receiver block. Same goes for the firing pin and the ejector.
Sounds like a lot of polishing but, once finished, I ended up with an extremely smooth AA .22cal Conversion Kit that feeds different kind of .22 ammo.
ViperR is a amember of this forum and he mentioned to me that, beside polishing the feed ramp, you can also polish the chamber, using a Q-Tip, down to the length of the .22cal casing. This will feed and extract even more different types of ammo.

I just received my AA conversion kit for my 21sf today via FedEx. I guess I will have to do this on mine as well. I think I will shoot it first & then buff it up when I clean it afterwards. Anybody know of any other tricks besides the mag plugs? They say to oil the rails, but I always use grease. Don't think it matters. I have had great luck with the gun grease instead of the gun oil.

Great Thread!
After the third outing with my AA G19 upper, I am rather disappointed... I can get one box (50rnds) of .22 through my AA without issues, but after that it starts not extracting!
I think I will start with the chamber polishing... and see what happens. It does appear that the chamber does get rather 'sticky' quickly on my unit...
Good Job, and happy polishing!!!
