Serial # question

Hey all. I recently purchased an SP2022 and was wondering. Is there any rhyme or reason to what pistols were made where? I was messing around on the net the other day,and found a link to an article pertaining to the Sig Pro series. It was very informative and touched on this question. But,I can't find it now! Stupid is as stupid does. I should have dropped it in my favorites, but I didn't. Anyhow, how can a fella tell where a particular Sig Pro was made. Thanks a million.
