NightScout micron 30 - Glock 30

I was recently in the market for another pistol and ended with the Glock 30 sub-compact .45 Auto. The current G30 includes a weapon rail; given its sub-compact size, mountable weapon lights are limited. The most publicized option Iíve seen in the Insight X2, a big and ugly Xenon bulb weapon light with a 40 lumens and 30 min run time. This was not cutting it for me.

I found a company named NightScout and their micron 30 weapon light. This is a 40 lumen LED weapon light designed for sub-compact pistols. It only weighs 1.3oz and is 1.1" X 1.28" X 2.1" Long.

For what they offer, the micron 30 is expensive. When it comes to home security price is irrelevant to me.

Here are some shots of my NightScout micro 30 with the Glock 30 (glocktalk has a government restriction of 6 images)

If it works for you good to go. I would strongly suggest you go out and fire 50 rds through it using your home defense loads to make sure there are no problems when things go bump in the night.

If anyone is interested, this is what she looks like after 50 rounds, sticking way out there. No problems yet, but I wasnít expecting any on a 3.78" barrel. Should I? This Glock is new in my set.

Nightscout has it directly for $84.99. That’s slightly less then what I see the Insight X2 (no laser) go for.

So I have one cosmetic flaw. As you can see from this picture, the rail mount sticks out slightly when locked. Not much, but just enough to notice…

I contacted NightScout about this and they offered to send me an alternate rail mount free of charge. They say it will take some of the length off the rail mount and should provide a closer fit
I'll post a shot when she arrives.
