My new RAT

Well, ESEE 6 but still, I like it ALOT. Not too heavy, well balanced, and sharp as hell right out of the box. The scales are very nice and the fit and finish is second to none, even the sheath fits great and has a solid lock up. I'll be buying a ESEE 3 or 4 soon. Awsome knives, I'm very impressed.

My intention for this blade is a camp knife, I've been wanting a nice larger fixed blade for a while. Had my eye on the Buck Strider, then BK2, and decided this was worth the extra money. Here she is.

If you're using it as a camp knife, pick up a small bottle of Rem Oil or CLP. I own several RAT/ESEE knives, and I learned the hard way that if you take care of them they'll last a long, long time. I have two Izulas. The first I just wiped off after use and put back in the sheath. After a few months it was rusted around the edge and where the logos were. The second one has been lightly oiled after serious use and it has yet to show any signs of rust, which is impressive considering I wear it around my kneck in the 90+ summer heat.

I have the RC-3. They are excellent knives and the prices are hard to beat.

I've got this one.

+1 on the oil. It is a high carbon steel blade and will rust if not kept up with. 1095 holds a great edge however.
