Mag release extension?

Is there any difference in extended mag releases? I just got my new G23, gen3, and my thumb isn't long enough to release the mag without shifting my grip.

Thanks in advance,
Dan in ABQ

It's that way be design. You don't want to be dropping the mag during a firefight would you? Even the "perfect" 1911 you must shift your grip to drop a mag. Come to think of it are there any guns where without shifting your grip can you drop a magazine?
