looking at a "pink" walther p22 for my daughter....

saw a pink framed p22 with a nickled slide at the local shop, tag was $399.00

i have an old well used norinco ak-47 im going to try and straight trade for it.

my daughter is 8 and shes been shooting her pink crickett .22lr rifle for about 2 years now and has shot my old .32 s&w I frame handejector a few times....

whats the feeling on these p22s? quality good? accuracy good?

while i dont care for the built in lock, this will obviously not be a self densive piece, and i like the two diffrent back straps it comes with for hand sizes.

the d/a pull is long but not too stiff until the end of the stroke but then the s/a shots after that are easy as expected.....

who makes a simple kydex snap in type holster for this for OWB?

my daughter has her pink cowgirl hat, pink browning buck knife, pink mini mag flash light, pink single shot .22lr rifle, this will just about complete her ensemble.......yea, shes a daddy's girl.

I'd go ask here:

http://www.waltherforum.com/

Reports over the years have been mixed. The slide is made out of a soft metal. Some have good luck, and then there are the horror stories. It almost seems like a crap shoot.

I personally wouldn't buy one.

Bud's has some Beretta Neos 22s with pink grips. If pink is important... Otherwise, I'd look at a Browning Buckmark or the Neos in any color. I have been a huge Walther P99 fan in the past - but the 22 seems to be a mixed bag.

Be sure to have your camera ready when you show it to her. I'm excited for her. Lucky girl.

Great pic of the girl with the new pink P22. Pay no attention to the nay sayers on the P22. Seven or 8 years ago the guns had issues but Walther has worked them all out. Great guns they are now. I'm sure the youngun is going to have a great time with the pistol.

Always good to see kids getting involved in the shooting sports. I take my gf's son shooting every chance I get.
P22's are good little guns, my gf and I have one apiece.

Nice try. We know it is for you and not your daughter.

Congrats.

I have a p22 with maaany rounds through it. Several children have learned to shoot with mine. If you maintain them properly, they're excellent guns.
