Were your sites dead on from the factory?

Mine have all been dead on to 25yds, or at least as close as I can shoot. I have shot farther but those guns had aftermarket sights on them.

Mine is as far as I can tell. I'm a relatively new hand gun shooter so I'm still fine tuning things, but, as far as I can tell I'm 100% of whatever inaccuracies pop-up.

My first Glock in 1996 shot low left, but the sights were self adjusting after a few weeks of shooting. All Glocks since then have been dead on for me.

All of my glocks and 1911's have been spot on. The only one I had to adjust out of the box was my sig p220, but I didn't have to adjust it much

17, 19, 26, 33, & 22. I have not shot the 26.

The sights on the other 4 were off. ("off" means the rounds did not hit dead center of the bull's eye at 25 yards when shot from a rest).

I replaced the factory sights with adj sights. This also allows re-adjustment when changing bullet weights.

My sights on both of my Glocks are more accurate than I am. If the sights are centered on the slide they're dead on.

If your sights are centered on the slide and you're not hitting where you're aiming, it's likely that your shooting technique needs to be tweaked. Could be that you're moving the gun as you pull the trigger, or even that the gun moves in your hands right after the trigger breaks.

Personally at 17ft most of my shots hit the center, but maybe 10% of them end up left, low, or low and to the left by a couple inches(shooting right handed with a two hand thumbs forward grip).

yeah, If the sights are centered then they are centered... if the bullets don't go where you aim them, something is wrong with your technique. Be it looking down the sights properly, anticipating the shot, milking the grip, etc... I know everyone hates to hear that it's them and not the gun or bullets...LOL...

Same thing happened to me, although it took more than a few weeks. My sights must be a little slower.

All of my Glocks always shot spot on.

I wish I could say the same for my friends new Beretta 92a1. It shoots about 3" low and 3" to the right.

My two new glocks came with the stock rear sight favoring the right side. Changed both with mepros dead centered and are now tested accurate shooting from a rest from 20' out to 75'.

If you are shooting at 17 feet, you don't even need sights, as mentioned by a previous poster. Point shoot!

found this...according to the guy, the mfg. don't really zero the sights I guess. I "drive the dots" and find my Glock and SIG very accurate that way...I'm not off either left or right on mine.

My new RTF2 G19 was shooting to the left with the plastic factory rear sight dead centered. I took it home and put a bore laser in the barrel and sure enough the red dot was to the left of POA. When rear sight was drifted almost all the way to the right the POA was dead on with the dot. I'm not sure what causes(slide or frame?) this but it is very accurate now.

I just purchased Glock factory night sights for it and had to do the same thing. My other 3 (G30,G20,G27) shot to the POA right out of the box.

My original plastic rear sight was drifted slightly to the right out of the box but as far as I could tell it, was POA. When I had my steel sights installed at Smyrna, the rear sight is now favoring the left side a bit. I asked the Armorer if it shot POA, to which he replied "yes", but I couldn't hit crap with it when I shot it two days ago. Hell, I shot 5 feet from the target and still didn't hit the bullseye. I'm going to shoot it again friday to make sure its not me before I go hunting for a sight pusher though. I think my next full-size Glock will have an adjustable sight to avoid the headaches.
