I would only use that mag for the range.

Factory Browning or Mec-Gar mags ONLY for the BHP. I tend to use the Mec-Gar 13 round mags almost exclusively.

+1. CDNN is a good source. I would get the Mec-Gar 13 rounders for starters. Then try a couple of Mec-Gar 15 rounders. And to cap it off, a Mec-Gar 20 rounder for range laughs.

The bottom line: buy Mec-Gars at reasonable prices (low $20s) from any reputable vendor.

Unless they tell you "factory" or "MecGar" on the phone, I would stay away and just buy MecGars from any number of internet vendors. The price should be in the low $20s.

But that invites the question: how many 13- or 15-rounders does one need per HP? Mags are comsumables, and we do live for the next 25 months in Obamaland, so I say -- 10 standard capacity (in this case more than 10-rounder) mags minimum per HP. I'm not there yet......

I don't believe there is such a thing as factory browning mags for a decent price. I would go with Mec-Gars. You can get blued 13-round Mec-Gar mags over at Manventure Outdoors for $16 apiece. Best price I could find.

any so so or average mags go into the trash. I keep mags that I can trust and use the same on the range.

Something you may want to look at is the "Mec-Gar 9mm Hi Power Magazines: 13 vs. 15-Round" article on Stephen Camp's web site http://www.hipowersandhandguns.com/m...015%20shot.htm. As for factory mags, they run about three times the price of the Mec-Gar's and they are the same thing.
