Speer Lawman Ammo
Hey everyone. I was at my local gun store and picked up a box of Speer Lawman 180 gr. TMJ in .40 S&W. I was wondering if anyone has any info on this ammo as i have never used it. I have a Glock 27 in .40 cal. that i will be using it in. Any comments or info would be appreciated. Thanks again for the help

High quality target ammo- reliable, accurate, low residue.

I was listening to some older episodes of the ProArms Podcast today and the panel, including Massad Ayoob, mentioned it was designed to provide the same recoil as hot SD loads, providing a training equivalent. I've shot it a bunch of times at the range and it has always performed well for me in .40 and 9mm.

I've shot thousands of 230gr .45acp and not once did it not fire. I like the stuff more than anyother range ammo. Its supposed to be a mirror image of gold dots when practicing.

Lawman and American Eagle are good for range use.

Load the magazine, then the pistol, aim at your target, pull the trigger and if it goes bang, why not?

Quality control seems to be very good with Lawman in general, never fired that specific round though.
In 9mm and .45acp, velocities are higher than they are with WWB. Clean burning, very consistent brass for the handloader.
If I had to pick a brand of factory FMJ for anything serious, it would definitely be Lawman.
American Eagle is also better than average IMO-FWIW.

Good stuff
My G23 shot it somewhat low with ok accuracy(far from terrible) but my G22 loved it-POA is POI and best groups shot with G22 yet

It's the best range ammo there is IMO. I like the 180 myself, they are made to match up with Speer Gold Dot's velocity for each weight. That and Blazer Aluminum are my favorite range ammo because they're so clean.

The Speer 180 grain Lawman TMJ is my favorite practice load for my Glock 22. It is a good load if deep penetration is needed as well as for training.

Yes the Speer ammo is great. the TMJ does seem to match the GD HPs very nicely to feel and accuracy.
