Are there any out there that actually work? I've heard stories that most of them suck, so I was trying to see if anyone know of any good ones...

I have a 30rd. Haven't used it yet. IIRC, it's a Korean surplus. I haven't heard\read anything about the surplus 30rd mags not working properly or sucking in general. I'm planning on shooting this weekend. I'll post my experience with it.

I've seen current production, new, ProMag M1 Carbine mags, 15 & 30, for sale for relatively cheap ($20 or so). I wouldn't buy one of those, only because my prior experience with ANY ProMag has been crappy, failure to feed.

Took my M1 Carbine out last weekend. All of my mags (2 15rd, 1 30rd) performed flawless with factory ammo, American Eagle, Prvi Partizan and Remington.

Mine are GI surplus and seem to work fine. No problems that I can remember over about 30 years of shooting.
