I just purchased a Remington 700 5R Milspec. Would you consider this a premium/custom barrel needing very little or no break in? I read your response on a past post where you answer one of several questions including break in. I wanted to see which category my barrel falls in. I have shot one box of Federal Premium 308 168 gr Sierra MatchKing BTHP. I cleaned after every shot for 5 shots and cleaned after every three shots for the next 15 rounds. I wish I would have seen this GATE forum before I went to the range.

I would not it exactly in that category, but your break-in method sounds 100% appropriate for that barrel. Bottom line, shooting it more without cleaning will not harm the barrel. Worst case you can always clean down to bare metal and start the break in process again.
