Actually the Nikon is 2.5x10x42. Anyway they run about the same price.

Which one would you most likely buy?

I have a Zeiss Conquest and a comparable Nikon Monarch. I prefer Zeiss, but the Monarch line of Nikon scopes is very nice. If Zeiss has an advantage over Nikon, I think it's at the higher magnifications...I'm talking about magnification that's greater than the two scopes you're considering. I've never had a problem with Nikon or Zeiss (or Leupold, Bushnell Elite, or Sightron for that matter). There's very little difference between the two, but I'd still choose the Zeiss if the size, weight, etc. is the same.
