What happens when Larry Vickers wants a Wilson?

You can follow it here. http://blog.wilsoncombat.com/caliber...-vickers-1911/

Pretty cool to see it through and just how much work goes into a good pistol.

Wow it looks like Mr. Vickers couldnt get 25 or 20 LPI checkering either. Ive read many articles stating he liked more aggressive checkering.
What i dont get with WC, is there explanation for only doing 30 was that they could not guarantee my satisfaction with the grip with any other LPI. If 25 or 20 was what i wanted, why wouldnt have i been happy? There right! I would have been jumping for joy LOL. Wilson definitely makes the most attractive looking semi custom's in my opinion, but this CQB will probably be the only one I ever purchase from them, mainly because I can get EXACTLY what i want from other companies

Wilson did a built with 20lpi for a guy on the 1911 forums, makes no sense why they wouldn't still offer it. http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=272203

I told myself I was done buying, but I would consider another Wilson if I could get the checkering I want.

i had a friend call wilson about customizing his delta elite last year. he wanted 20lpi checkering and told him that while they couldnt/wouldnt do it in house that there was another local smith that they could use to do it 20lpi.

edit: that always sounded peculiar to me.

See, if I could have any 1911 in the world, I would want one built by Larry Vickers... But now it seems if Larry Vickers could have any 1911 in the world, he would want one built by Wilson...

I'm in a bit of an emotional quandary right now...

HAHA He's probably just being lazy and Im sure his bank account can afford it. Who knows if he even paid for the thing. WC is probably still scratching their heads from the time he called. Im sure the Smith's were thinking it was April fools a few months early or something
