I picked up a gen 2.5 G27. Serial # confuses me a bit. any info would be appreciated.
CHBXXXUS.
Why the US after it? All others I've seen ( I think ) were just 6 digits.
|
The US is not a part of the serial number although it looks like it. My G22 (I got used as a police trade-in) has the US on it. I think the US means it was manufactured for a government entity or a police dept. My G26 doesn't have the US.

first post.... Hi, I'm the proud owner of my first Glock. G23 Gen4 brand new SMT5xx
the "Date collected:" on the first test rounds is listed on the envelope as 1/31/12.
Can anyone tell me what the AT means that is stamped onto the top of the barel block to the right of the Glock trademark?? And what about the MBS that is molded into the receiver at the top of the trigger gaurd on the right side??
Thanks
P.

Sorry, used search for the MBS question. Modular Back strap.! Which by the way, a little dissapointed in the fit of the Medium strap option. It seems as though it is molded too small, or the stock grip is slightly too large, at the part where the pin goes through to hold it in position. I pushed as hard as I could, after pin is inserted on the left side, pushed through to the right. The hole on the Medium strap is about .5mm mis-aligned to the rear. I was able to get the pin in the right side hole, but.... there is still a small gap where the blend line is between the add on strap and the original grip.!
Now, I didnt look into this or pursue it because I wont be needing either strap because I prefer the bare small grip.!
The Large option strap seems to fit just fine. I will re-examine the medium later for casting scraps or flaws. Maybe its an easy adjustment.
P.

Both of these serial numbers were verified by Glock, Inc. via telephone today.
G22 2nd Gen 031xx DPD Detriot Police Department 02/07/1994
G27 2.5 Gen FBN 8xx US 10/2002
This was verified by Glockmeister several years ago...
G19 2nd Gen TC 4xx US 02/1991

Did you get it new or used and did you get it within the past year? With that prefix based on the last entry on the list by the OP... I'm guessing made in 2010-2011. My G22 Gen2 was made in 1997.

Thanks for replying Sgt, I bought it brand new last January (18th), so I guess it might have been manufactured during 2011, but not sure. Do you recommend me to call Glock in Smyrna, GA?, do they have or keep info about the guns sold in other countries (Chile in my case)?
The only other data I have, is that it was tested by the Chilean Military Authority on December 27th, 2011 (02 shots were fired with it).
Thanks again & Best Regards,
David

Found out my G23 GMWxxx was made on August 13, 2004 then sold on September 3, 2004 to a LE agency in New York.

I purchased a new G22 Gen 4 this week. STSxxx with shot date of Feb 2012. I like it a lot! Do NOT expect to change back straps.
