G22 with LW 9mm barrel not ejecting properly...

I have a G22 with a LW 9mm barrel. I determined that I needed 4.4gr of Bullseye under a 124gr Montana Gold JHP for the slide/ejector to function correctly. Last night I loaded up a hundred and noticed that my powder charge had drop to 4.2gr. At 4.2gr the slide/ejector does not function correctly. I get brass high and stove piping a high percentage of the time. When I don’t the brass goes left instead of right (shooting right handed).

Can you help me understand what is happening and do you have any suggestions to help the situation?

I would like some powder tolerance and +-.2gr does not seem like a lot. I would take the charge up to 4.6 but… I am concerned about too much pressure in the case.

The 40 conversions require a certain amount of pressure to run. If yours runs on 4.4 and fails on 4.2 I would say you are too close on the load. If the book says you can go 4.6 I would encourage it or drop your recoil spring down to 11 lbs and run the 4.2 loads.

JR...

Where can I get the recoil spring? Is there any down side to changing the spring?

You can see a stainless GR here http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.a...94&TERM=lwd-gr
I recommend a 11 lb recoil spring http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.a...=783&TERM=ism-
No down sides I am aware of? Change back to stock weight when you shoot full powered loads & you are good to go!
