SA 1911 Price Check

Personally, I wouldn't mess with it. Key parts have been messed with/changed out, and while that may be fine it could easily be a disastor.
Any warranty, depending on the issue might have been voided with the parts change-out.
The current price for a new Mil-Spec varies between $600 and $700 depending on whether parkerized or stainless. That's the way I'd go if I wanted a Mil-Spec--and they are a fine value.

I'd have to inspect it.
I mean if all the major components are untouched and the gun can be put back to OEM I'd surely think about it.
I would not however pay for someone butchered mistake.

You can a new unmolested stainless MilSpec for less than that.
Garage modded 1911s are generally worth less than stock.

It might be worth the risk at a considerably lower price, but not anything over $450 IMO...unless he has the receipt of the gunsmith that did the work.
