LED monitors
Installed my first two Viewsonic 24" LED monitors yesterday.
Holy cow!
They were under $200 and just sparkle compared to the gazillion LCD monitors we have.
Let's see how long they last and hwo many I have to exchange during the next year, but for now, I'm sold on LED monitors.
Might could be that the next two find their way to my desk.

There are no losers in the VAX world, regardless of how many systems, or with what type of device, you made your connection.

I remember when I learned hi tech computers, I first had to learn how to read and punch those punch cards. And back then, the hit game of the century was " Hunt the Wampus ".

I would rather forget the punch card era. Spent all too many hours handling them and praying I would never drop an arm load of them - never did!
Remember the programing boards on IBM Big Iron machines?
Somewhere I still have a pile of punch cards.

Is this good for gaming? I'm actually looking for a new monitor, but I don't know jack about flat screens, whether it's LCD, plasma, LED, whatever.

It is supposed to reduce the 'ghosting' effect that you see on some games.
Went back and have 2 of these on the way... His N Hers - We game from time to time... got the wife hooked on FarCry just before she turned 50... and we are beyond that now!
New house, new home office... figured we should get back to gaming together! The family that games together.... should be able to hold off the Zombie Horde till Help arrives in a couple days...
They should be here Thursday, and I will post first impressions.

At work I had 5 VAX 4000's, 2 PDP's and 1 HP 1000.
At home I had 2 VAX 3800's providing Internet Services to my friends.
I loved VMS.

Well, UPS dropped off these bad boys last night... so I will be putting one up today!
The box is pretty good sized, but *very* light!
This will be fun...

TFT, Active Matrix.
I hate those lazy matrices.
Work, matrix, work!
I have another problem.
It is getting harder and harder to find video adapters with 2 DVI ports. Most now seem to have one DVI and one HDMI and 99% of my displays have VGA and DVI connections. I do not want to stock a boxful of adapters.

I'll have to take a look at 'em. I don't read the Geek Daily that often, so you never know. So far, I've not been impressed with the "LED" TVs I've seen. I know that the whole LED backlight thing is being pushed by the tree hugging global warming bunny huggers, so it stands suspect on that count alone.
