I am fighting the urge to chop down the A-frame and go to a 9 inch rail, though. I want HK front and dioptic rear folding BUIS so bad I cannot stand it...

Good news is it took just a hair under 2 months to get my Form 1 back.

Welcome to the Noveske club! Don't worry about the permanently-attached Vortex flash hider, it's the best there is, zero flash even in the indoor range. Next on your list should be a good optic, but you will find the irons are already zeroed in the factory.

Since I seem to find it impossible to leave well enough alone...

Replaced the DD Omega rail with a Troy/Viking Tactics TRX rail, YHM low profile short gas block, and Troy HK front sight. According to the bathroom scale, with a loaded PMAG, the gun tops out at about 6 pounds - I am quite happy with that weight. I also added a LaRue hand stop to the side rail, and have a buddy hooking me up with an unwanted folding fore grip, since itll be easier to store that way. New Pelican case is inbound as well. I had to sell/trade my old AR (well, most of it) and sell my USP to fund the rest of this project, but it was damn sure worth it.

Edit to add:
FAA, I love the Chatterbox slick-sided upper. Almost makes me want to get one for my SBR....

I figured it was, since they did the CB lowers. At this point, however, I think I need to say "Good enough" and walk away from sinking more money into that damned gun

Looks great! Wish I had the balls to do that to my Noveske, I've just never painted a cammo pattern before.
