New PPQ being shown at the SHOT show

Hearing the new Walther PPQ semi-auto pistol will be unveiled at the SHOT show on the 18th in Las Vegas. From pice I have seen it looks A LOT like a P99 AS with no decocker, a glock-like trigger, textured grip, and longer slide stop. If indeed those are the differences, not sure what the point is over the P99.

P99 is an excellent pistol with legendary comfort, ergonomics, and accuracy. Unless the PPQ is less expensive or has some other advantages over the P99 not sure why Walther USA would introduce it....

Here's a picture of it. Looks just like the Radom P99D to me

That's an old Polish company; perhaps Walther is making this for them.

I used to be known as the super, crazy Pro P99 guy on many, many gun forums on the net.. I've gotten at least 14 people to buy one.

But. I sold my last one last Spring, and likely will not buy another.

If the textured grip portion was rubber, I'll admit that I'd be tempted to scoop up another. But, more than likely, it has the texture similar to the HK P30.

But, if Walther wants to keep selling the P99, it's about time they started importing some version of the newer P99 designs being sold in Europe exclusively. So, this is a natural progression, IMHO. The original P99 has been around since 1998.

Had they imported the gun on their own instead of relying on other 3rd party companies, I think the gun would be more popular. Everyone at the Walther Forum has talked on this subject for years. S&W/Walther USA has done a terrible job marketing the gun.

It is one of the most accurate polymer 9mms I have ever shot. I scored a perfect score for the first time on my last shooting re-qualification for my CHL, and I used a P99 that time.
