As nasty as that thing is, the back of that slide does lend it self to the eventuality of manufacturers milling 1911 slides to install a mini red dot sight like the FN.

I would like to put a 100 rounds thru it, seems interesting. Not much you can do to the 1911 that has not been done, but this is new.

The slide lightening I get, but the shortened sight radius seems like a bad idea. Plus it's ugly as sin.

Exactly... that & they took the 'sealed' design (a good/smart thing) of the 1911 & opened it up WIDE... that's smart X2.
