Wal-Mart greeter
Charley, a new retiree-greeter at Wal-Mart, just couldn't seem to get to work on time.
Every day he was 5, 10, 15 minutes late.
But he was a good worker, really tidy, clean-shaven, sharp-minded and a real credit to the company and obviously demonstrating their "Older Person Friendly" policies.
One day the boss called him into the office for a talk.
"Charley, I have to tell you, I like your work ethic, you do a bang-up job, but your being late so often is quite bothersome."
"Yes, I know boss, and I am working on it."
"Well good, you are a team player. That's what I like to hear.
It's odd though your coming in late. I know you're retired from the Armed Forces. What did they say if you came in late there?"
(scroll down..... ..............)
"They said, "Good morning, Admiral, can I get you coffee, sir?"

A retired Admiral is now a greeter at walmart? I hope he's just doing it for entertainment, not for money... that's sad imo.

A GySgt (E-7) pay is not near the same as an Admiral, but I found this to be funny nevertheless. Our old company gunny was a hardass, and he would yell all the time. I think it was his only volume. He retired from the Corps about 6 months ago. 4 months ago I saw him stocking shelves at Lowe's and some mid 20-something manager was yelling at him to move faster. Talk about being humbled...

Man, I'd have to look at the multipliers and it depends if he took REFUX but an E7 with 20 is only getting about $1500 a month. Not too many people are retiring off that.

Hmmm, we're doing it on less than $900 a month.
