Inexpensive Laptop upgrade

My Dell Precision is over 3-1/2 years old, but performing well. But, knowing the hard drive is the most vulnerable component, I looked around to upgrade the HD.

Found a WD blue scorpion 320G for only $44 with free shipping and a portable case for less than $8 also with free shipping. The case even came with a triple USB cord, screws, a screw driver, and a slip over protective carrier.

Downloaded from the WD site a WD version of Acronis clone/backup software. The whole thing took less than an hour to clone an image to the new drive. Swapped hard drives and the new drive works perfectly. Went from 120G to 320G. And now have a working back-up hard drive (the original drive.)

Bargains are out there for the having!

Seems my first computer had two floppy drives and NO hard drive. My first hard drive was all of around 20 MEG! How technology has changed!!!

My first computer had a data cassette. I could not afford the $500.00 that a single side, single density 5 1/4 disk drive went for.

Times sure have moved on and for the better.
