My Latest: Mitchell Arms Gold Series '95

Well, this is #65 and counting. It is a beautiful Mitchell Arms Gold Series '95 that I bought from a gentleman in Georgia. He has moly coated the underside of the frame and the sides of the frame and slide have been polished to a mirror finish. He did a stunning job. I will be replacing the grips sometime soon. I would like to stay with some nice exotic wood. The grips that are on it were made for a Colt Delta he has.

That is a sharp looking gun. I am unfamiliar with the company though, any details you could share would be helpful. It'll save me a google trip!

Mitchell Arms was producing firearms for a while. They are now more of a distributor/retailer for High Standard (or something of that nature) and, from what I understand, they are Mitchell's Mausers. The Mitchell Arms 1911s' frame and slide were made by Caspian for Mitchell Arms. There is not a lot on the web about them.

If they're anything like their High Standard guns they ran some years back, they're nowhere near a $1300 value, much less the $2500 retail on their website. I've seen one, I think, at a gun show NIB. Impressed me as slightly better made than the AMT Hardballer. I say "think" b/c I kept seeing it show after show. I will concede that many of the AMTs performed satisfactorily and this might be OK.
