Looks very nice! It's hard to tell, at least on my computer, is the barrel black?
Congrats!

I see you also replaced the ambi safety on it which I think is a good thing, but then I'm right handed.

yessir! nothing against the RIA rollmark, I just prefer a naked slide....

the grips are also my first attempt at making micarta and grips.... I worked up a slab of micarta while the Cerakote was in the oven.... sanded and shaped 'em the following morning....

WOW... and you did it all yourself?

I want to do exactly the same thing to a RIA tactical someday... I'm just waiting to find one at an amazing price.

I want to go sans-advertising, Trijicon NS, black melonite/ stainless controls, oversized stainless bushing, and a lanyard loop. Someday!

now you tell me.... that would've saved a ton of time....

I contacted my local 'smith and asked for his advice.... he said it was possible to file it off slowly.... the main thing is to keep the file flat and parallel to the slide.... I think it took about 6 hours of painstakingly slow filing to get the whole rollmark removed....

Next time you can try removing roll marks with a belt sander . Just dont let the slide get too hot. I dont think JB weld would work to good being media blasted and baked.

Looks really nice!
