GOMAD: will chocolate milk work?

I hate the taste of milk. Chocolate milk I like, and it has more calories. Downside is that it's more expensive and has a lot of sugar.

If you have to ask what GOMAD is and what it's for, then you don't know the answer.

Perfect response! I love it.

Choc milk will work, but thats a ton of extra sugar. White milk alone has a decent amount of sugar.

Maybe try it but keep an eye on your waistline?

Why not add a little protein powder to some of them to make it sorta like chocolate milk?

Use plain almond milk and add a quality whey protein powder. Tastes is very good, almond milk has less sugar and more calcium than dairy milk - and no BGH or other hormones.

Thank you! Thank you! I'll be here all week! lol

OK, so I'll give it a try. I was worried that the calories coming from the sugar might not provide the same effect. I'm just trying to gain weight at this point. I will build the definition again once I have the bulk.

Thanks to you and all who had input.

As much extra sugar as is in chocolate milk, it's probably only a very good idea if one is undernourished to the point of Ethiopians offering you their leftovers.

Give it a shot and see how it works out, though.

If you don't know what GOMAD is, put the purple Smart Bells down, walk away from the jazzercise class and get to learning how the big boys train.

If your bulk includes (a nice layer of) fat you will not be able to define it.
If you like choc milk purchase some powder that you like and make your own; it will (probably) contain considerably less sugar.

If one is going to eat enough to gain a substantial amount of muscle, then gaining fat is a given. When someone is using GOMAD, he's figuring on gaining a bunch of fat along with the muscle.

If that's the case, I suggest a good stout or porter, and grilled steak with fries. Plenty calories, tastes better than milk.

I agree that would be a lot more fun! I think when people are using GOMAD, they're also eating craploads of about everything within fork's reach. The GOMAD just tacks on another couple thousand cheap calories per day and might provide some hormonal help. When I've read of people using GOMAD, they're in the 7000-8000 calorie/day range.

This is the idea: http://startingstrength.com/articles...t_rippetoe.pdf

Update: day3 is almost complete. I'm already about 5 lbs heavier. Taking in about 6-7K calories a day with my regular meals and working out regularly.

By end of week I will be about 10lbs heavier.

Looking forward to gaining about 20lbs over the net 3 weeks.

Should I post pics?

It's the gas I'd be worried about, I'm sure my colleagues will appreciate when I'm off the diet...

Totally aware, and cool with me, I have so much definition, I need to add some bulk. Right now I have a ton of definition, need some bulk.
