My son-in-law, (the one who sleeps with my daughter against me wishes) is a contractor and after having gone through some very slow times for the past two years suddenly finds himself busier than a one armed paper hanger.
For the past several months he's been working 7 days a week, leaving home just after 6 in the morning and not getting home until after 7 at night and though operating on the verge of exhaustion he hasn't voiced a word of complaint.
Somehow he finds the strength, and will to spend quality time with my grandchildren every night as well as continuing to treat my daughter like a queen, (I hope he's too tired for anything else). All in all he is a better father, husband and man than I ever was or ever will be.
It's been months since he's been able to go shooting with me and although he'll spend a few minutes with me in the loading room we've yet to figure out a way that he can actually load whilst taking a cat nap.
With spring just around the corner and the Colorado shooting season on the horizon I will make sure his work schedule allows for at least one day a week of rest and relaxation with his family and at least a couple of those days involving a few hours at the range with both myself and my grandson.
While being a hard working father and husband should be something that comes naturally a little recognition of that effort I'm more than happy enough to provide.
Yesterday I called Brazos Custom Guns out of Texas and ordered him an STI, Trojan 5.o in .45 caliber. Although all the employees are in Orlando, FL at a major shoot they confirmed that they have one in stock and that it will be shipped to Colorado a week from today.
Since I have a Trojan 9mm on order for myself the bulk of bullets that I cast over the last couple months were obviously for use in that gun... once again I out smarted myself. I must now scurry around and scrounge more wheel weights to cast up 7 or 8 thousand 200 grain SWC so he can do more than point the gun down range and yell,
BANG.
(To make my wheel weight gathering easier I would request that each forum member PM me your address and the exact location of where you park your vehicles. Leaving milk and cookies by one of the tires would be greatly appreciated.)
Below is a photo of the Trojan that will be here next week. I should point out for the newbs that it looks exactly like my 9mm on order except the hole where the pointy end of the bullet comes out is bigger.
I hope he doesn't do any more good stuff... I can't afford it.
