Anyone here reload the 375 H&H currently?

My business partner just bought a rifle that is chambered in the 375 H&H. He wants to know if he (well I) can reload this cartridge with a lighter bullet say 150 grain. I asked him why and it is because he wants a lower recoil round for hunting deer that are slightly smaller than an Elephant

Anyways if anyone has loaded this caliber with a lighter than 300 grain bullet please pipe in.

Thanks in advance.

I have shot my 375 with the 200s and 250s.

The 200s on top of a couple spoonfulls of Varget is a pretty good load.

You start pushing the 250-300 gn bullets and recoil can be somewhat harsh. But nothing like a 416 Rigby out of a lightweight double rifle. I almost bought one till I shot one. I like my retinas attached.

Thanks Hozer. Will procure some 200 grainers and load them up with some TAC.

The lightest bullet commonly available is a 200gr bullet made for the 375win. If you choose that for deer, then keep it around the same vel for best results. You cna push them very fast, but they aren't designed to stay together at higher impact vel. The 375h&h is a very versatile hunting round.

Speer makes a dandy 235grn. semi spitzer. I load mine to 2600fps and have had excellent results on everything from mulies to moose.
