Anyone here regularly switch their barrels to 40 S&W ( and back)??
I probably don't take advantage of this as much as I should. I have a .40 barrel for my P229 and almost never use it. Lately, I've been thinking of outfitting all of mine with a spare .40S&W barrel
This is the SHTF side of me thinking out loud rather than my which caliber do you prefer side ( 357sig wins hands down)
The prices would run from 50+ dollars for my M&P to $180+ dollars for my Sig 2340. Throw in the others and I would almost have the price of a new pistol wrapped up in.40 S&W barrels...

Hardly ever.
Just sounded like a good idea years ago.

I may pick up a .40 barrel, or a 9mm conversion barrel in case ammo starts running dry again. But since I reload the .357 sig I don't foresee much of a problem.

Yes, I have a 40 that I switch to a 357sig, g27 to g33. I had bought the g27 before I realized how much I liked the 357 sig

I have a .40 barrel (Glock OEM) for my G32, and also a LW 40-9 conversion barrel. Shooting .40 and 9mm isn't as loud or expensive and I find myself shooting all 3 when I go to the range. Obviously it does make for being SHTF ready, but more for ammo convenience and cost.
That said, I went all-Glock last year so these will work in the G33 too. In your case, I don't know if that would make sense since you have so many models to buy for.

My P229 started out as a .40, since I dropped in the 357 barrel the old one only gets used if I get some .40 ammo tossed my way.

Sweet!!! With that and a nice 357 magnum, you could have the option of four calibers in two handguns!!

Ihave 9mm and .40 S&W Storm Lake barrels for my G-32. Although I most often shoot 357 SIG, I do frequently shoot the other calibers. It gives me flexibility depending on what ammo I have on hand. If I want to shoot un-jacketed lead I can do so with the Storm Lakes.

You're right! the G27/33 will make a nice auto-loader companion for my 6" GP100 and 2 1/4" SP101
