Getting closer ...

I have now acquired
  • Tumbler
  • Nearly 2000 9mm pieces of brass
  • 2000 small pistol primers
  • 1000 each Rainier bullets in 124gr and 147gr
  • 1 lb Unique
  • 1 lb WST
  • Caliper

I need to commit to a digital scale -- everything under $200 seems to have mixed reviews, so I just need to bite the bullet and pick one. Then I will just need the LCT/dies and some spare time.

I just got a tumbler last night. They work amazingly well and I was surprised how quiet it was. Tip: get the rotary sifter instead of the manual pan. If you do use the manual pan don't try to do all of it in one shot, do a little at a time.

Sounds like you've been doing your homework. That's a great list so far. The Dillon scale is way under $200 and I haven't read anything negative about it. Mine works great. And so does my LCT.

I agree, the Dillon is a very good dig scale for the money. If something does go wrong w/ it 10yrs down the road, Dillon will replace it for 1/2 price.

I bought a cheapy scale off eBay that works great. It came with a weight so I can calibrate it each time I use it.
What press are you going to use?
Dont forget the ammo boxes, buy the type with hinges so they stay open when your putting in your reloads
The last one I got was a 100 rd one from Sportsmans wherhouse. It fits great in my small range bag.
Also I bought a small tool bag from Target years ago for only $10 and it works great as a 2 pistol range bag.

I agree with the Dillon scale. I used a friends when I went over to load on his 550 and it was a very nice scale.

Another Digital scale you might want to check out is the new one Brian Enos is offering on his site. Looks really nice and haven't hear any negatives on it yet

I had the new Brian Enos scale that cost $130 ish. I sent it back because it didn't work in the under 5 gr weight range.

Thanks all, I guess I'm leaning towards the Dillon electronic and beam. Suggestions for best prices?
