Any other suggestions? Speer list COL with 180 TMJ as 1.120". Should I use this COL? Thanks in advanced!!
ALWAYS keep in mind that plated bullets load closer to lead than jacketed. so 6gr will be quite warm w/ a plated bullet. You would actually be pushing Unique pretty hard @ 6gr w/ a 180gr plated. I would start & 5.2-5.3gr & work it up w/ 6gr as a practical max. Using 6gr under a 175grRNFP @ 1.250", runs over 1000fps in my USP.
"Given adequate penetration, a larger diameter bullet will have an edge in wounding effectiveness. It will damage a blood vessel the smaller projectile barely misses. The larger permanent cavity may lead to faster blood loss. Although such an edge clearly exists, its significance cannot be quantified".
