Commander done for now.
I think I am done for now with my Commander. I got looking it just the way I like it. I added....
Wilson Combat drop in beavertail grip safety
10-8 flat trigger
VZ Operator grips.
I might change the thumb safety in the future, still not sure though. I installed the trigger and grip safety with no problems(just alittle filing)
Before.
After

At first I thought they looked funny. After actually trying one, I really like it.

Not slamming by any means just posing the question: Why do you like the flat trigger over the standard (curved) trigger?

I'm not knocking your flat trigger, they do shoot nicely. I'm just not used to the look.
I REALLY do like the way your Commander looks!

Here's a nice compromise. Just tested this out on my mil-spec and it feels relatively the same as the flat trigger. Confirmed at the range this weekend. And now it will look better in pictures.
Gonna do the same thing for my HD rail project. It's currently a 10-8 flat trigger, but will be adding a slight curve to it.

What's wrong with the trigger?

The trigger that came with the gun was real sloppy. Had a lot of play in the frame. The 10-8 flat trigger fits perfect After a few swipes with the file.
The main reason I like the flat trigger.....I have a high grip when shooting. With the flat trigger you can pull/press/squeeze the trigger from anywhere on it(not just the center like standard triggers) Feels better to me. It does look different though

Nice job, not a fan of the trigger, otherwise it looks great.

I just might have to try one out in my Colt.

Awesome - nice job! I've actually been thinking of getting a Colt Series 80 Commander size (I don't have any Commanders in my collection) as a bit of a project gun. Your example may have pushed me over the edge!!
