i have a new sig 220 elite that came with night sights. im not doing to hot with it out at 25 yards. i was using a traditional sight picture where the bullseye rests right above the front sight post ( six o'clock position). i am told this is not correct with sigs and that i should be placing the front sight post dot directly over the bullseye. can some one verify this for me? if not what is the proper sight picture with this gun? btw, this particular sig is up for trade..... for a 220 elite match if your interested.

That's right......I have Glocks and Sigs and the sight picture is different on each. You need to cover the bullseye with the front site from my experience on the Sigs, whereas the Glock is as you state (i.e., place front sight at 6oclock position with the bullseye resting just above the front sight.

I have Meprolight night sights on all my SIGs (AKA SIG Nightlights) and Glocks (added aftermarket) and I always cover the POA with the front sight dot. Seems to work the same for both.

Over on SIGforums, someone has posted a diagram of the proper sight pictures for the various methods of sighting.

My SIG p228's all shoot high with 115 gr. ammo therefore I use a #6 front sight with the #8 rear.
