WSF .40 and 9 mm loads

I went to Sportsman's Warehouse today to get a pound of WSF since a lot of you recommend it for 9 mm and 40. They only had a 4 pound jug so I bought it. Last week I got 2000 Delta Precision bullets that are 9mm 115 gr. FMJ and .40 165 gr. FMJ. Could you please share your loads for light-medium to shoot in my Glocks? THANKS!!

I got this off the Hodgdon website:

For 9mm 115 gr. 4.9 gr. 1060fps - 5.7 gr. 1195 fps
.40 165 gr. 6.3 gr.1055 fps - 6.7 gr. 1115 fps

The Hodgdon load data is the original Winchester load data. It may be a bit on the mild side, even loaded to the maximum. The 9mm seems a bit mild but the 40 S&W works out fairly close to what is claimed. I don't that load data will get you into any trouble. I usually use the same load data and it's decent. I think some manuals may have some hotter loads.

In 9mm I use 5.3-5.5 gns WSF. 5.7 gns is max.

I use WSF in my 9s to the tune of 6.2grns./115-124grn. bullet for 1200fps+. Superbly accurate and hot it replicates store bought SD loads with ease.

You'll find that WSF works best when you run it to the edge.

Can't help you out with the .40 as I only reload 180s in the caliber.

Well, maybe not the edge ,but definitely aobve midrange levels. I like it in both 9mm & 40. I shoot mostly lead in either, but utpo 6gr under a 115grFMJ @ 1.150" is running hard but not pressure signs in several 9mm. In 40, 5.8gr under a 165gr Berry's or 175gr LFP is very accurate. As always, work upto any loads in 0.1gr increments.

5.3gr Winchester Super Field under a 9mm 115gr Montana Gold bullet has given consistent results and good accuracy in my CZ 85. I get an average of about 1,140 fps and around a 30 -40 fps extreme velocity spread with that load.

As another said, this is .4gr under the max load. As always, pay close attention to case overall length with 9mm loads.

I shot 5.3 gr. and it worked real well in my 9mm. I tried 5.8 and 6.3 in the .40. They shot okay. Still need to work on that one.
