When I shoot my G26 1 handed, it sometimes goes to slidelock with rounds in the magazine. The empty casing ejects fine, it doesn't stovepipe or otherwise malfunction in any way. I took the magazine apart and the spring clearly needs to be replaced. While I understand how this could case a failure to feed, I don't understand why it engages the slide stop. Can someone explain this?
I suspect the problem is your grip. This happens when you shoot right handed,correct? Your thumb is riding high and pushing the slide stop upward thereby engaging the arresting notch in the slide. You can prove it to yourself by simply removing the slide stop and shooting it again.
Work on your grip and the issue will go away
