Safariland no longer making the 6070 Raptor?

I don't see it on their website anymore? This is my preferred duty holster, are they still able to be found new?

You can still get 'em through Galls-http://www.galls.com/style.html?asso...og&style=LP381

Copquest is having a "close-out" sale on them (which may mean you're right)- http://www.copquest.com/23-1300.htm

Wow, I always thought it was a great holster. I dont own my current duty weapon, it is issued. If I ever went to an agency where I had to supply my own weapon I would carry my P220.

Guess I better go ahead and pick up a new one just in case.

I wonder if they weren't selling enough of them or what?

Yeah. I still have mine. We went from a Glock 19 with the Raptor Holster, to a Glock 21 with a Serpa Blackhawk holster. They let me buy the almost new Glock 19, with the 3 mags and the Raptor holster for $300.00 (plus tax).

I always thought that Raptor was a great holster.

Two things have killed the Raptor. Main one being the popularity of the ALS holsters. They have caught on like crazy. Then the price, when compared with a similar level ALS ( even though Safariland does not concider it a level III it has three types of retention ) it runs up to 50 dollars more. Thats adds up to alot when you think that officers in smaller agencies have to buy their own or a large dept that has to buy a stocking number of them at a time. The town next to us is already trying to buy up as many as they can. They issue G21s with Raptors and have since the Raptor was introduced. It replaced their old SSIIIs.

I guess none of the younger guys coming in even know what a 070 is. That was the main reason I chose the 6070 because of the easy transition from the 070.

Its hard for me to believe there is a better holster out there, but I have not handled the ALS holsters.

I bought a used Raptor off GT classifieds a few years ago, but it really was not as good as an 070... and looked like ****, IMO.

Worst holster I've ever used. Glad to see it go.

Well how about that? I have owned at least one Raptor since 2003. Last used one earlier this year on my leather rig with my G21. I think I have four of them: 220/226 railed (B/W), G17/22/19/23 (B/W), G21 (B/W), 226 non-railed (fine-tac).

collim1 - I've never used the 220/226 railed one in basketweave. If that's the right finish and you're intersted, let me know, I'd sell it to you no problem.

I have one for a G17/22 in STX Tac finish, and loved it when I could use it. Tto me, it's the retention of the 070, with automatically-engaged security upon reholstering, a la the 6360. I also have an ALS, and it's nice, but, in all honesty, I prefer the 6070 over it. A lot of the turds around here have figured out the 6360, but very few have even seen the 6070.

Great holster. Been using it with my P-220 for several years.

That's great, thanks. Give me a few to launder the money from the wife and I'll PM you if I can pull it off.

I have a Raptor now for my P220. I like the 070 better, but it works.

While we are on the subject, anyone know the product code for the basketweave quad pouch for single stack mags. I want the one with the snap cover, and the divider between the two mags.

Can't find that darn thing on thier website either.

I guess I could carry it with the double pouch, but puts that my round count at 24 with a 7 rounder in the gun and two spare 8's.

The model number is 277...not sure about the fit and finish codes. I know CopQuest lists the item.
