USGI National Match 1911

Alright, I've been trying to get these to jrs93accord and have had abysmal luck in doing so. But I want to share these images with all of ya'll, too.

My Dad purchased this from our neighbor back in the late 60's. They shot together on a competition team and our neighbor decided he did not need this pistol amongst all his others. My Dad thinks that the neighbor bought it about '66 and he does know that it was bought at Camp Perry.

As best I can tell the frame is a 1943 vintage Remington Rand, the pistol is parkerized, and, of course, there are no matching serial numbers on anything.

I hope this works-- first time attempting to post pics!

I don't know if our neighbor ever used it for competition but my Dad did.

A very very nice gun. I'd leave it just as it is.

Yeah, my Dad isn't about to change a thing on that pistol. Nor would I.

does look like a 66 era SA USGI National match- nice gun- I have the 67 version- pistol smithing was transferred from SA to RIA in late 66 due to SA closing. Models prior to the 66 version had a different rear sight. You will find this to be one super accurate pistol- they were built to stand up to a 3 inch at 50 yard accuracy standard

I did receive one of the pics sent. Thanks for posting the rest here. That is one honest to goodness USGI NM. It is nice to see that it has been well cared for over the years. That is a beautiful pistol. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks for getting me started on this. I'll try to send the other pics now that my son has done the voodoo that shrinks them. I want to post some more here but I am apparently inept at how to post pics (I think I need to make them even smaller file sizes.)
