CCI 300 and WMP primers for what bullets/loads??

Have 1000 each of CCI 300 and WMP primers and 800X.
Starline brass.

Which is best for what loads ??

I dont want to work up a load with one primer than have to rework it later. The only round I have worked up so far is 180 gr XTP over 800x with WLP primers.

Right now I have...

135 gr nosler JHP

180 gr XTP

200 gr beartooths

.395 balls to load under the 135 gr JHP for a similar DT load.

Will probably buy some 155 gr win Silvertips later.

Thanks

Confused. You mention "WMP" primers but I think you mean "WLP."

That being said, I like the 300s for all of the bullets you mention except for the two-projectile combo - I have no experience with loading that.

Generally speaking I go with the lightest primer that gets the job done. That is especially true with 800-X. Unlike any powder that I have used, 800-X seems sensitive to primer choice. The extra spark of mag primers and "in-between" WLPs exhibited higher pressure indications at comparable velocities than with standard primers.

If it were me doing load workups with those components, I would go with the 300s. Having loaded all three bullet types with 800-X, the 300s performed the best.

I would reserve the Winchester primers for a different slower powder like Accurate No. 9.

300s will work for most anything. Same for Remington # 2 1/2 primers. I don't know about those Win primers - I've not used them.

CCI350s will give you problems in the lighter bullet weights.

I won't bother using magnum primers anymore with the 10mm
