Best OWB ?

IWB's look too uncomfortable, so I'm thinking OWB.
This is all new to me.

OWB is the only way I carry.I have tried several different IWB's with several different guns.Never could find a comfortable combination that worked for me.I now carry my Sig 239 in a DeSantis speed scabbard. This gun/holster combo is the most comfortable I have ever worn.

I always wear loose untucked shirts, so I cant see a reason to mess with an IWB.

Thanks

For me, IWB works better for concealment but I do carry my Glock(s) in an Don Hume beltslide OWB fairly regularly as well ....

Need a price range really, a Good OWB can probably run from $50-$150+. Also figure on needing to get a gun belt. Otherwise your holster is gonna sag badly (yes, even on your heavy belt from Wal Mart/Tractor Supply, etc..), not to mention be uncomfortable. Expect $50-$100 on a gun belt.

Generally speaking, loose untucked shirts are what you wear with an IWB as well.

I understand you wrote that it "looks" uncomfortable. Don't knock it till you've tried it! I carry a Glock 17 off-duty in a Blade-Tech IWB holster. I like it quite a bit.

My favorite OWB holster is 5 Shot leathers pancake holster. The fitting is perfect, not too tight, not loose, and you get that click when you holster your gun letting you know its in there. I have them for my Glock 23, 5" 1911 and commander size 1911. They keep the gun close to your body and ride just right. It is the most concealable and comfortable holster I've ever used. My second choice is the Mitch Rosen Premier (mine is the express model) I own a lot of different custom holsters and these two are the ones I always end up wearing.

I am quite fond of the Don Hume H721 with thumb break. I have one for each gun I carry along with a 1.5" Beltman.

I gave up on IWB carry years ago. I carry either a Jframe or a P239 in it and it conceals well (not perfectly) with a dark polo.

It completely depends on you, your belt, and the particular style of gun. What is ideal for a 1911 might not work for a Glock.

You'd have to have one heck of a bulky, loose fitting covering garment to cover most Safariland holsters.

I always used to carry OWB too because I never found an IWB holster that was comfortable. Then I tried the Galco King Tuck (similair to Crossbreed Super-Tuck, IIRC) - and found it to be VERY comfortable. Its now what I wear most of the time for my Glock 19. The large piece of leather behind the holster spreads the weight out and molds to your body's shape. The only downside to it that I've found is that there is no way to adjust the tension of the holster, and if I turn it upside down, my pistol falls out of it with just a tiny shake.
