To me this is just another gutless politician pandering to his audience. If people who hear this message can't figure it out they deserve what they get. What I heard him say is he is unable to do anything about gangs and drugs so lets deal with the gun part of his equation. In time people will see that it's flawed thinking. The leftists (I refuse to call them liberal since they hate individual liberty for anybody but themselves) are not ignorant. They know exactly what they are doing.
